Bharat Mata Hospital was established in 1974 in Muri, located on the Bihar–Bengal border, to address the healthcare needs of the local population. The initiative was led by the Samaritan Sisters—a religious congregation founded by Msgr. Paul Chittilapilly in Kerala with a mission to serve the poor, the sick, and the marginalized, particularly those suffering from leprosy.
Today, Bharat Mata Hospital has grown into a 50-bed facility, equipped with a modern labour room, operation theatre, neonatal care unit, diagnostic services, and the dedicated care of experienced doctors.
To address the growing need for healthcare professionals and the aspirations of the youth, Bharat Mata School of Nursing was established under the aegis of Sneharam Charitable Trust.
